Beer Taster

Yep. It’s a real thing! Just like a sommelier for the wine industry, the beer industry has professionals who are beer tasters.

Being a professional beer taster goes quite a bit further than grabbing a cold brew and saying whether it’s good, though. To master this craft, you must be able to identify specific characteristics, such as the following:

  • Know whether a beer is malt- or hops-based
  • Pinpoint key textures, such as thin (pale ale) or thick (stout)
  • Understand the brewing process in order to identify traits (color, aromas, bitterness, malts, grains, body, complex, crisp, hoppy, robust, etc.)

Want to be an unofficial beer taster with Tri-Eagle Sales? Follow us on social media for news and updates on product launches and events throughout the region.
